The mission and goal of the English Language Arts Program is to develop readers, writers, communicators, and thinkers who are prepared for the challenges and opportunities in the world today and in their future.  We operate under the Guiding Principles for English Language Arts and Literacy Programs (see link to Massachusetts Curriculum Framework) to build on the skills and experiences of students in their elementary years. Our program provides students with rich literary experiences and increasing complex texts and with instruction in writing for varied purposes and audiences, as outlined in the ELA standards
