Marblehead Public Schools SEPAC
Welcome to the Marblehead SEPAC!
Here are some key points about SEPACs:
- Purpose: SEPACs advise the school district on matters related to the education and safety of students with disabilities. They provide input on policies, programs, practices, and services that impact these students and their families.
- Membership: Membership is open to all district parents of children with disabilities (those with IEPs and 504 plans). The only exception is a sitting judge!.
- Functions: SEPACs meet regularly with the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services to participate in the planning, development, and evaluation of the district’s special education programs. They also help identify unmet needs and shape the development of programs and services.
- Advisory Role: While SEPACs do not have formal authority to issue directives or set policy, they make recommendations and provide guidance that can be used by decision-makers and local leaders.
